SE 89th Bathroom Remodel

The second floor of this property was in desperate need of an upgrade, including the entryway doors, trim and bathroom. The bathroom had not been updated in many years and had gone through multiple floods and the doors and base trim were pretty dented and well worn. After demolition we discovered the particle board sub flooring and corrected it by changing it out with plywood and waterproofed all seams before the tile was installed to minimize damage in the case of future flooding.

Our clients daughter, an aspiring Interior Designer, wanted to get involved with designing her bathroom for a class project. We collaborated with her and explained how budgets are built, shared construction trade knowledge associated with each phase of the project and the costs and potential roadblocks to avoid associated with each subcontractor. We also included our vendors in the process to better explain the construction process from A-Z . We hope that the project was a great learning experience for our client and her daughter.

The project included:

Electrical upgrades included:

We installed three new colonist style doors (with a small door for our clients furry family member) , door trim and new base moulding to Revive the adjoining hallway and refresh the whole second floor. Our client received a designer quality bathroom and the project also served as a first design project for our client’s daughter as well, which was a lot of fun to be a part of!
